Title: Key Account Customer Service
Report to: Sales Manager/Key Account Manager
Location: Mount Vernon, Washington

Job Summary:

Northwest Horticulture is well known for superior customer service and support. This role is a critical position on the Key Account Sales Team. This person works to closely to support Key Accounts and Key Accounts Manager on day-to-day activities. Job entails a customer service focus with the ability to navigate tense situations resulting in a positive outcome for both the customer and our company.

You will manage relationships and sales with key account customers, including everything from day-to-day information requests to program planning and product presentations. You may be asked to professionally attend and assist at company meetings and events. Responsibilities also include clerical duties and data entry.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with the National Sales Manager to provide ongoing account management
  • Serve as "eyes" of the field key account manager
  • Build relationships with the network to help grow our quality reputation
  • Ability to see a need and build programs that help our customer succeed over the competition
  • Identify ways to increase sales
  • Visit local Key accounts in shipping season
  • Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail
  • Work with Planning and the Key Account Sales Manager to build and manage forecasting
  • Monitor crop progress as to ready dates and quality
  • Work with the inventory department to communicate demand levels and standards
  • Manage product allocation of available inventory
  • Communicate variance, special events and problems to Production and Key Account Manger
  • Keep all other sales channels informed regarding open availability
  • Gain Industry intelligence visiting competition and surveying product mix and pricing
  • Handle all aspects of key account customer inquiries and calls
  • Make outgoing sales calls
  • Take and enter orders
  • Conduct facility tours

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently, manage and prioritize multiple projects, be a team player
  • Be able to adapt to an ever changing market/industry
  • Understand the grower side of the horticultural industry
  • Knowledge of perennials, plant uses and hardiness zones
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office - Access, Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Excellent people, verbal, math, and writing skills
  • Problem solving skills

Credentials and Experience:

  • 5 Years + Horticultural industry experience
  • HS diploma, College Degree Preferred
  • Minimum two years of customer service or sales experience

Special Requirements:

  • Ability to work in the office and in the field
  • Willingness to work overtime, holidays and weekends as requested
